Flexibility and adaptability
“Downtown Summerlin is part of larger vision for the Summerlin community, which has been developing for 25 years and is still growing —complete it will have retail, entertainment, office and multi-family residences. Our town planning framework, with multiple blocks and room for infill development, allows for flexibility and adaptability as community and market demands evolve over time.”
Beyond The Strip there’s another Las Vegas, an affluent residential community with an ever-increasing population. Downtown Summerlin, is a new mixed-use development that is creating a lively, walkable center with a traditional main street grid that encourages easy movement of people and vehicles. With a design inspired by the desert lifestyle the development features pedestrian scaled buildings set among network of shaded outdoor spaces — sidewalks, passages and gathering and dining places and an iconic fabric covered space — all cooled by natural means, not air conditioning. In addition to diverse mix of retail, dining and entertainment venues, the center includes a nine-story office building at its core, featuring an open breezeway as a lobby. Stir Architecture (formerly Altoon Partners) served as the Design and Executive Architect on this one of a kind project.
