A three-dimensional conversation

A translucent glass curtain wall with embedded LED screens and colorful lighting curves out from the building frame to provide a lively and dramatic nighttime façade that engages passersby in a lively three-dimensional conversation and invites discovery.

The design of the 150,000 square meter department store addresses the challenge of the Z-shaped, mid-block site with two “front” streets.  A bright passageway connects the two distinct volumes while the structure and skin of the layered façade creates a standout identity.

The 15-level department store offers a mix of shopping opportunities while the top two floors host a roof top food court, an 8-screen cinema and specialty restaurants.
