Attention to detail

“The City of Toronto understood that they had an exceptional opportunity in the renovation of Union Station, a beautiful 1927 Beaux-Art building and the transit heart of the city. And they left none of the details unattended, including our Tenant Design Criteria Manual that will serve as a guide for years to come.”

Deep in heart of Union Station, the revered historic structure linking the center of downtown Toronto with regional suburbs as well as national and U.S. cities, thousands of potential shoppers crisscross the busy concourses. Stir Architecture (formerly Altoon Partners) design strategy leverages the exceptional location beneath the main station to create a nexus of destinations enticing people to meet, dine, shop, and mingle — a “destination of destinations” in the heart of the city that serves as a pivotal point for all the exceptional activities that surround it. Each retail location helps fulfill the unmet needs of transit customers, tourists, office workers and residents as the station becomes a multi-modal transit portal offering a cornucopia of local foods and merchandise that attracts commuters, tourists and visitors.
