Improving the perfect setting

“Large-scale, mixed-use redevelopment projects always require the careful integration of multiple complex parts and multidisciplinary team members. When the project is also a popular tourist destination getting it just right is the only option”

Improving the perfect setting requires imagination and restraint in equal measure. Stir Architecture (formerly Altoon Partners) brought both to their transformation of a tired portion of Waikiki Beach into a vibrant, must-see destination that draws both tourists and residents to its mix of entertainment, retail and hotels. The largest redevelopment project in district on over 30 years includes 7.9 acres in the Lewers-Beachwalk area. The expansive public plaza with its lush landscaping and fountains and the fanciful wave awnings along the iconic gateway draw visitors to the entertainment venue that regularly features authentic Hawaiian music and dance.
